Insurer joins Markerstudy and Zurich on panel

Ageas has joined telematics broker Carrot Insurance’s motor underwriting panel, alongside existing panel members Zurich and Markerstudy.

Carrot’s telematics product, launched in 2012, features a telematics unit called the Insurance Box, which was designed and supplied by software firm RiskTrak.

The unit links to an online dashboard which gives drivers a score based on how well they drove, with good scores generating cash rewards.

Carrot product director Ed Rochfort said: “We’re delighted to have Ageas join our growing panel of motor underwriters. As a leading insurer, it’s not only a trusted brand but also brings with it a wealth of underwriting experience and expertise.”

Ageas underwriting director Adam Clarke added: “We’re very excited at the prospect of our two businesses working together. We firmly believe that educating young motorists about their driving style is fundamental in helping them to become safer drivers.

“Carrot’s extensive experience and innovative approach to rewarding their customers is an exciting development that will drive forward the insurance industry, with new and customer focused practices.”
