Philippe Maso was appointed CEO of AXA Insurance in April 2008. He oversees the company's operations in the commercial, personal, and corporate partners markets, as well as online insurer Swiftcover. He also has overall accountability for the independent broking distribution business.

Philippe's career in AXA first began in 1995 in Paris where he worked in the finance department, eventually becoming Head of Group Corporate Finance and Financial Risk Management. In 2003, Philippe joined AXA UK as Group Finance Director.
Philippe is the happy father of five daughters. He lives in London and in his free time enjoys spending time with family and friends, music, theatre, exhibitions, rowing, tennis and skiing.

He is responsible for the general insurance operations of American International Underwriters (AIU) in the UK and Ireland, based in London. AIU is AIG's international property-casualty insurance organization. He succeeds Daniel S. Glaser, who has left to pursue another opportunity.
Mr. Baugh joined AIU in 1983 as a financial lines underwriter. He subsequently held a succession of positions with AIU in New York, London and Paris and was most recently President of AIG Europe, S.A., and President of AIU's Continental European Region. He has also held various positions in AIG's Domestic Brokerage Group. Mr. Baugh is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Robert Brown was appointed CEO of Aon Limited in July 2009 and sits on the Global Aon Risk Services Executive Committee to represent UK retail business. He will retain his role as CEO of Aon Corporate & Affinity, to which he was appointed in January 2008, to lead Aon's retail broking activities for mid to large UK companies. He is also responsible for the Professional Services Group (UK regions), Aon Private Clients, Affinity and Footman James.
Prior to this, Robert was head of Risk Transfer for Aon Global, the team responsible for the programme design and placement for large UK corporate and multinational clients. He also managed the brokers transacting EMEA & APAC property and casualty business into London markets. Before, Robert worked on the North American account since he joined Aon in July 2001.
Robert previously worked mainly in underwriting for 17 years. Although predominately based in London throughout his career, Robert spent four years working in Switzerland in various management roles including chief multi-line underwriting officer for Winterthur International. He also worked in Hong Kong as regional broking manager for Winterthur International with responsibility for all underwriting and sales/marketing in Asia.

At the FSA, he worked mostly on the project to reform polarisation. Previously a civil servant with the Department of Trade and Industry, Richard worked in the Insurance Directorate as the director responsible for the reconstruction of the Lloyd's insurance market. At the Association of British Insurers he was Head of Life Insurance for three and a half years where he led the co-ordination of the industry's efforts to resolve the pensions mis-selling issue.
Richard works on a wide variety of projects and deals with industry level issues and political and regulatory influencing as much as he roles up sleeves and assesses a sales file for compliance. At present he sits on the BBA's steering group responding for the bancassurers on the FSA's Retail Distribution Review. He involves himself in most of BRC's ARROW assignments and its regulatory remediation assignments.

Stephen aims to ensure that the ABI is highly influential with Government and regulators on behalf of all its members. He believes in working in partnership with the ABI's stakeholders to build that influence whilst always making clear where ABI stands.
Previously, Stephen was Director General, Fair Markets Group at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), where he was responsible for the development of the framework within which business operates, including the competition and consumer framework, employment relations, company law, women and equality issues, and also trade and European issues. He held this position from January 2002.
Prior to this, from 1998 until Spring 2002, he held other positions within the DTI, including Director of Employment Relations, and Consumer Affairs. From 1994 to 1998 he was a director of the DTI's Competitiveness Unit, a central policy team reporting directly to the Secretary of State.
From 1990 to 1994 he left the UK civil service to work for the Hong Kong Government as a member of the Governor's Central Policy Unit.
Stephen studied history and economics at Oxford University and joined the Department of Energy in 1978 where he held a number of posts, principally on nuclear issues and as Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Energy.
In October 2007, Stephen was appointed Vice President and Chair of the Board of the Institute for Employment Studies, the UK's leading employment and human resources experts.

After 9 years in Aviva, which I think is a long time, but to many of my colleagues it's a brief sojourn, I still learn something everyday.
I love what I do and I love to escape it too. I live in the middle of a field in Alburgh, Norfolk, with my long suffering hubby Darrell and we provide occasional lodging for my stepson Shane.
Any free time is spent outside either at home in the garden or travelling on my hols and if the sun in shining the roof on the car is down.

He graduated in medicine and surgery from Aberdeen University and spent his first ten years in the Royal Army Medical Corps achieving the rank of Major. He then joined the Department of Health where his responsibilities included regulating the pharmaceutical industry in the United Kingdom. In 1989 he joined PPP Healthcare and in 1995 became Deputy Managing Director. During this period he was also Chairman of the ABI's Medical Insurance Committee.
In 1997 he joined Ingram Micro, a US based technology distribution company, as its Managing Director.
As well as his role at the CII, Sandy is a Past Chairman of the Institute for Global Insurance Education (IGIE), a Director of the Personal Finance Society, an Honorary Secretary of the Insurance Charities, a former International Governor of the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU) and Immediate Past President of the London Phoenix Orchestra. Sandy is a member of the Advisory Board of CASS Business School as well as being on their External Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Actuarial Science & Statistics. Having originally joined Swiss Re in 1998, Philippe headed up planning and controlling for Division Europe and was promoted to senior management in 2001. He then became head of the Client Team for Switzerland.

In 1998 Dane joined Brit Insurance Limited (BIL) and was appointed as BIL’s Chief Executive Officer. In 2002 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Brit Syndicates Limited and Group Head of Underwriting.
Dane joined the Willis Faber Group in 1982 and was appointed executive director of the Political & Financial Risk Division in 1988. He was a founder shareholder and director of Special Risk Services Limited from 1989-1994. Between 1994 and 1998 he was a consultant on the sale of a number of mortgage operations and a risk consultant to several financial institutions. He was appointed a full time consultant to The Benfield Group in 1997 prior to joining BIL.
He joined the Board of the ABI in 2009, was on the Board of the Lloyd’s Market Association from 2004-2006 the last year of which was as chairman, chaired the Market Reform Group until the beginning of 2008 and chaired the industry’s Contract Certainty Steering Group from 2005 to 2007.
Dane was made a CBE in 2007 for services to business.
