David Gittings
Chief Executive
David Gittings is Chief Executive of the Lloyd’s Market Association. His early career was spent in the London Stock Exchange where he contributed towards the modernisation of the market which resulted in 'Big Bang' in 1986. He was Director of Regulation at Lloyd's of London from 1995 to 2002 where he developed and implemented a regulatory regime at Lloyd’s fit for FSA purposes ahead of the changeover to statutory regulation at the end of 2001.
In 2002 he joined Wellington Underwriting plc, where he was a member of the group’s Executive Committee and a Director of Wellington Underwriting Agencies Ltd. He became Chief Executive of the Lloyd’s Market Association in December 2006.
