The news is an update on a restructuring among Ageas senior management

Ageas has updated staff about ongoing changes in the roles and responsibilities of its UK executive team.

Revealed in a leaked email from Ageas chief executive Andy Watson to staff yesterday, the insurer is looking for a new head of commercial.

Watson said the new head of commercial will lead a new “channel mix strategy” – working with wider areas of the business on its propositions.

It also revealed plans to create several new teams within Ageas and make new appointments.

This includes a change and programme management team consisting of members from the former IT project change team, and the underwriting change team. This team will report to the as yet unfilled post of director of IT services.

Another new team will be created reporting to the head of data management – another role yet to be filled. This will include the current BI team.

Claims

In claims, two new leadership roles will be recruited for – a supplier relationship manager, responsible for coordinating supplier relationships across claims, and a TU relationship lead, responsible for arranging joint activity with Tesco Underwriting.

Travel, household and special risks are set to be consolidated under a single role, reporting to the director PL underwriting B2B.

A further new head of underwriting services role will be created to support this area.

The changes to the Ageas UK executive team are part of the ‘One Ageas’ plan revealed last year.

Key changes saw Ant Middle become chief customer officer and Adam Challand become chief underwriting officer from the start of this month.

Ageas is continuing its search for a new chief risk officer and chief financial officer.
