New appointee says she is ’delighted’ to now be leading the UK and Ireland business

Allianz Partners UK and Ireland has appointed Patricia Moon as its new chief executive, a statement released today (25 May 2023) revealed.

Moon has worked at Allianz for 20 years, having held roles in four different countries across different lines of business and functions.

This included head of learning and organisation development in Portugal and senior HR expert in Germany.

She was most recently the chief executive of Allianz Partners Japan, where she grew the business in the country, fostered people engagement and built up product and digital capabilities for the long-term.

Moon said she was “delighted” to now be leading the UK and Ireland business as chief executive.

“The team at Allianz Partners UK and Ireland are dedicated to helping people through some of the most challenging moments of their life, whether travelling, at home or when behind a wheel,” she said.

“Ultimately our mission is to deliver great experiences and peace of mind to our customers and business partners and I look forward to fulfilling this mission together with the team.”

Stepping down

Moon has succeeded Tim Tozer, who stepped down from the role earlier this year (28 February 2023).

He has now moved into the role of non-executive chairman – Allianz said the UK and Ireland business will “will continue to benefit from his significant experience”.

Meanwhile, Moon will report to Alexis Obligi, regional chief executive for Western Europe, Latin America and MEA (Middle East and Africa).

Obligi said: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Patricia and wish her well in her new role as she continues to drive forward the growth journey for UK and Ireland.

“At the same time, I would like to thank Tim for having developed the business significantly during his tenure and for continuing to provide his valuable support in his new role as non-executive chairman.”

Moon’s new role as chief executive was made effective on 1 March 2023, but was announced today following regulatory approval.
