Sara Chorley had a stomach-churning rite of passage when she joined the Lloyd's press office last week – nothing to do with the insurance market though.

The 28-year-old was sent home suffering from food poisoning on Thursday lunch time after battling a barrage of press calls on a major insurance story.

“Her upset stomach caused her a lot of agony between taking calls on travel insurance and she eventually had to go for a lie-down,” said colleague Adrian Beeby sympathetically.

“It was a great start for her first week – kind of like a baptism of fire.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
