Rumours abounded last week that details of Aon's proposed job cuts had been mistakenly posted on the broker's intranet, much to the consternation of staff.
Well, according to Backchat's mole in the company, the rumour-mongers had got a bit carried away.
Yes, the details had been posted. But not by mistake. In fact a document entitled The Next Step - an employee's guide to restructuring at the broker was posted on the site, with every member of staff sent an email directing them to that section.
No doubt there was still some consternation among staff singled out for the chop though.
