Charities may not be confident that their insurance adequately covers their needs, according to independent research commissioned by the charity insurer Ecclesiastical.

As a result of the research, Ecclesiastical said it will relaunch its combined charity insurance policy with improvements to the sections prompted by the research findings.

Joe Gray, Ecclesiastical's intermediary operations manager, said: "Charities come in all shapes and sizes so it's important that our policy can offer comprehensive cover in many circumstances.

"In a litigious society charities are increasingly answerable for their actions, so in particular we've improved cover for trustees and also now include cover for loss of income due to death or disgrace of a patron. And of course charities' needs continue to change, so we plan to continue to adapt the policy in the future."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
