Five of the UK's largest general insurers are combining forces to set up an intelligence-gathering database to replace the General Insurance Marketing Research Association (GIMRA).

Insurers are concerned about the deteriorating broker service standards and want to take the policing in-house. GIMRA has been accused of being long-winded and inflexible by the industry.

Nunwood Consultancy have been asked to devise a questionnaire and the results of its pilot scheme are now underway.

If successful, Nunwood will provide a quarterly report for the industry.
