The FSA helped outline the terms of Marsh & McLennan's (MMC) own inquiry into bid-rigging in it's UK office, reports claimed today.

The report said the move suggested there were more concerns about bid-rigging in the UK than the FSA first admitted.

London law firm Freshfields was appointed last week by MMC UK chief executive Bruce Carnegie-Brown to establish whether bid-rigging had occurred in the UK.

According to the report, the FSA had helped to establish the methods of the internal investigation, three months ahead of it becoming the regulatory authority.

The FSA would also receive a copy of the internal report once the investigation was completed, reports said.
