Independent Insurance's provisional liquidators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) confirmed this week that it has issued a "notice of pre-protocol" to the insurer's actuaries Watson Wyatt and auditors KPMG.
A spokesman said PWC had written to Watson Wyatt and KPMG warning them that it may take legal action against the parties in connection with the collapse of Independent.
