Today's Belfast Telegraph carries a report from the Northern Ireland Health and Safety Executive (HSENI) which claims 15,000 people in the province suffer from work-related stress. HSENI chairman Liam McBrinn said rising insurance claims for stress are costing the local economy £330m a year.
The Birmingham Post reports that the city's financial services sector could be heading for its "deepest downturn in many years". The Birmingham Forward lobby group claimed in the report that the war in Iraq, coupled with new regulatory requirements, have put pressure on local insurance brokers.
Finally, Bournemouth-based rehabilitation service, Moving Minds, has launched a psychological after-the-event (ATE) product. The company claims that the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) system, can be used to relieve emotional distress caused by accidents.
