A new solution to assist with modernisation and reform in the London Insurance Market has just been launched.

The Insurance Workplace (TIW) is an internet-based service targeted at providing brokers, underwriters, risk managers, loss adjusters and other insurance practitioners with a shared collaborative service.

David Edwards, managing director of TIW, said: “Although contract certainty and ECF (electronic claims files) are just two of the potential uses for the TIW application, our collaborative service offers much more.

"Now any practitioner can use off-the-shelf, secure software that can put them in touch with any third party; they also have a service where they can openly agree and store confidential documents, notify, track and audit changes while providing total transparency in the negotiation of their business.

“If you combine the fundamental advantages of having your own community together in a secure, virtual workplace, then we believe TIW offers a real opportunity for the insurance industry to get the optimum from today's new technology.”

TIW has been formed by an alliance of Hummingbird, the Alphabet Group and Web Connectivity.
