A survey by car insurer Diamond has found yet another reason to steer clear of the North.

The report, which rated driving records by occupation as well as location and car type, found that male chefs from Oldham driving a Lexus represented the gravest threat to humanity.

They were followed closely by female, BMW-wielding hairdressers from Manchester.

The next riskiest locations were in the North West, in Blackburn and Bolton.

Meanwhile, one Backchat contributor was informed that his motor premium was disproportionately high because his own occupation was “high risk”.

Mystifyingly, he drives a Renault, is fond of sheep and from North Wales.
