Rehabilitation specialist IPRS has struck a deal with Manchester United to conduct independent testing on its high-risk players, such as Wayne Rooney
The deal is designed to give insurers more information about the risks. The three-year contract will give IPRS time to gain more comprehensive cover for players, it said. IPRS said it used objective techniques to assess player injuries and report on the extent of the risk.
