Members of the professional standards organisation the Motoring Uninsured Loss Recoveries Association (MULRA), have unanimously voted to expand its remit.

The move follows the agreement at the recent Annual General Meeting that MULRA needed constitutional reforms. It will now open membership to all providers of Before The Even (BTE) personal lines legal protection.

Membership rules and the Code of Practice adopted by all member companies have also been amended.

MULRA chairman David Haynes said: "The market has moved on from where it was in 1994. The revitalised MULRA can make its collective voice heard clearly in discussions with the Insurance Ombudsman and associations representing
the legal profession.

"At the same time, we shall continue our campaigning role and actively seek new members to assist in our activities".
