Davies Group, the insurance claims service provider, has made two senior hires to support expected growth.

Kim Alcock will join Davies in early January and will be responsible for leading business development for its specialty claims division.

Matt Bloomfield has been hired as a key account director, responsible for the day-to-day management of some of the firm’s most important clients.

Alcock has joined from GAB Robins, while Bloomfield was previously at Zurich.

Davies chief commercial officer Darren Coombes said: “Both Kim and Matt are highly regarded and experienced claims professionals who will add tremendous value to our client relationships as we seek to deliver a winning proposition.

“These appointments also signal our intention to recruit quality people who can support our ambitious development and growth strategy.”

Davies Group chief executive Dan Saulter has said the loss adjuster is on track for improved results this year after its operating loss worsened to £1.5m from £675,000 in the year to 31 July 2013.

Excluding amortisation (£927,000), depreciation (£936,000) and exceptional costs (£997,000), Davies’ underlying profit improved to £1.37m from £1.18m.

Saulter predicted that underlying profit would more than double to £3m in the year to 31 July 2014 after a strong year of winning contracts and the acquisition of liability adjuster Garwyn.
