Insurer launches media insurance product

Aviva has launched a specialist media insurance products aimed at a range of businesses, including on and offline publishers, marketing and advertising companies, photographers, broadcasters and local media.

Aviva’s new media product provides specialist protection for expensive recording, editing and broadcasting equipment should it break down or be damaged.

The cover also includes legal protection and essential liability, using a combination of Aviva’s self employed office package and the bespoke media policy.

Keith Sully, commercial underwriting manager at Aviva, said: “We have put together our media cover to meet the many and varied requirements of this specialised industry.

“The media industry relies heavily on technology, with the evolution of multimedia technologies changing the landscape in this sector beyond recognition over the last twenty years.

“As an industry particularly dependent on specialised equipment it is essential to have an insurance policy that meets those specific needs. However, it is also important to remember that many businesses will need additional areas of protection such as: business interruption, professional indemnity or even directors and officers cover.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
