The news that the distinctive Cox brand will soon be lost, and replaced by Equity, led one ex-Cox employee to contact Backchat.

The employee wanted to impart a story concerning the company's first in-house magazine. It seems when Cox Insurance was created staff wanted to start a magazine with a Lloyd's-like reference in the title. Staff decided to use Lloyd's specialist magazine The Insider for its inspiration, calling the in-house rag Cox Insider. I think, dear reader, you may know where this is going.

Its first front page story highlighted the work of its diligent HR manager under the headline "Fiona King loves Cox Insider".
