Newly formed network also recieves 180 membership inquiries
OurNetwork, launched last month by broker-owned insurance management company Broker Direct, has signed up its first 60 brokers.
Set up primarily for members of the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB), OurNetwork has also received over 180 inquiries from brokers who have expressed interest in joining.
The network initially launched with AIG UK Ltd, Arista Insurance Ltd, DAS, Groupama, MMA Insurance, RSA, W. R. Berkley Insurance (Europe), Limited and Zurich Insurance on its insurer panel, and will announce further panel members shortly.
Brokers joining OurNetwork gain increased levels of commission across a wide spectrum of products from partner insurers. In addition, those brokers holding a Broker Direct agency have access to an expanding suite of online comparative commercial products. Additional services, such as compliance support, training, lead generation, HR consultancy and web development continues to expand.
Managing director Paul Brierley said: “Obviously we are delighted with the number of brokers and insurers that have joined OurNetwork so far. And, despite the very public criticisms voiced by concerned rivals, it is now obvious that we have certainly hit the ground running and we intend to build on that momentum. The growing number of high quality insurers we’re working with also adds tremendously to our offering and provides our members with the ammunition they need to win business and retain it.
He added: “Interestingly, feedback from joining members underlines how dearly brokers value their independence, and they join because they can gain valuable support but not at the expense of that independence.”
