Mapfre Assistance has appointed Jair Marrugo as managing director of its UK travel division.
He will be responsible for developing UK travel insurance products and services in the business-to-consumer and business-to-business-to-consumer markets.
Marrugo worked on managing Mapfre's Latin American businesses for the last seven years.
Mapfre Assistance chief executive Gregorio Santos said: “Jair Marrugo has shown great leadership and business development skills throughout his extensive career in the travel assistance industry."
Marrugo said: "I am delighted to be joining Mapfre Assistance as the managing director of its travel division."
Mapfre Assistance is the UK arm of Mapfre Asistencia.
