AXA group chief executive Henri De Castries is rumoured as a potential candidate to replace current French chancellor Jean-Louis Borloo.

Layton aims for £70m

Layton Blackham Business Solutions is aiming to boost its GWP to £65-£70m by year-end and is currently in talks with 15 new broker partners. Osbornes Insurances Oxford and JC Steels Insurance Brokers of Chesterfield joined the company bringing the total to 25.

Heath retail boost

Heath Lambert Insurance Services strengthened its retail partnerships division with a number of key appointments to grow the division “to keep pace with demand”.

Johnston Park recruit

Halesowen based Johnston Park McAndrew appointed Dale Collett as its sales and marketing director. Prior to joining JPA, Collett was the business development director at the Birmingham office of Giles Insurance Brokers.

Onlyinsurance appoints

Onlyinsurance.com poached Insureandgo’s group sales manager, Ian Hall, the former national development manager of Bupa. He has joined as head of personal lines. Onlyinsurance.com will specialise in home, motor, travel and health price comparisons, when launched.

Call to cut risks on roads

Insurer yesinsurance.co.uk called for action to reduce the risks posed by the UK's most dangerous roads. It said the installation of crash barriers and realignment of junctions, combined with improvements in traffic signing and white-lining, were the most beneficial improvements.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
