A round-up of the latest insurance stories online

There was a heap of traffic on our website last week in anticipation of our latest issue. Online readers headed straight to our breaking news story about brokers’ claims that rival insurers were trying to steal commercial business from NIG.

Not content with just a preview, many went on to read the full story before it was released in print last week. The frenzy of interest made it the most read story on the site.

Last week, we also revealed online the departure of Zurich’s personal lines broker boss Mark Coffey. After breaking the story on our website, subscribers to our news alert service were the first to read the news when it landed in their inboxes.

The insurance issues understood to have put a spanner in the works of David Beckham’s loan to Tottenham Hotspur came up once again. We reported how Beckham was prevented from playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly match due to issues over who would pay his insurance. The story sent traffic on the site sky high.

Naomi Campbell’s case continues to cause a stir. Hiscox was the latest to comment on how it could impact on the future of conditional fee arrangements.
