Neil Hammond and Chris Fletcher join as Dave Canning is promoted

Liberty Mutual Insurance (LMI) has hired two new casualty underwriters in the UK.

Neil Hammond (pictured) joined the company on 1 August as commercial casualty manager, reporting to LMI chief underwriting officer Richard Coxon.

Hammond will be responsible for the profitable growth of LMI’s commercial casualty portfolio throughout the UK.

In addition, Chris Fletcher has joined the insurer as senior casualty underwriter in Birmingham.

He replaces Dave Canning, who has been promoted to the position of commercial casualty manager, regions. Canning will now be responsible for managing casualty underwriting for all of LMI’s regional offices.

Coxon said: “The changes to the team reflect the growing demand that our commercial casualty team is experiencing. Neil brings a wealth of experience and expertise and we are confident that he will be able to help drive the growth of the commercial casualty portfolio across the UK. LMI, launched in 2011, is the mid-market commercial lines division of UK-based Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, and is a part of the global specialty division of US insurance group Liberty Mutual.

LMI has offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cheltenham, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester.
