Underwriting agency UK General has hired three business development managers to its personal lines sales team.

Joe Hall joins from the Warranty Group, where he was insurance sales manager.

Tony Molloy joins from Towergate-owned home and mortgage protection insurance broker Paymentshield, where he was a product manager.

And Ian Kember joins after 11 years in account management with Lloyd’s broker Crispin Speers.

The three will be responsible for building and developing UK General’s trading relationships and securing new business opportunities.

Their hiring bring UK General’s UK-wide sales team to 10 people.

UK General sales director Paul Everett said: “We have increased the number of trading partners and we need to pay close attention to servicing their needs.”

He added that strengthening the team underscored the company’s determination to meet its aim of becoming a £500m gross written premium business.

The appointments closely follow the announcement of a new capacity deal with Munich Re subsidiary Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK), which takes effect from April 2016.
