AXA group CEO Nicolas Moreau expected to return to Paris

AXA Life chief executive Paul Evans has been tipped to replace the insurer's UK and Ireland group chief executive Nicolas Moreau, Insurance Times understands.

Moreau is expected to return to Paris to take on a wider group role in the next few weeks.

Last month, AXA UK agreed to sell its life and pensions, protection and group pensions business to Resolution for £2.75bn.

It is keeping its general insurance business which will continue to be headed by chief executive Philippe Maso.

Maso is currently searching for a new commercial boss to replace Ant Middle following his exit to Aviva.

AXA declined to comment.
