More than a quarter of UK financial services companies are likely to consider relocating their businesses in the next three years, according to a survey from Invest Northern Ireland.
200 finance directors of financial services were consulted in the survey. 28% of respondents said they are likely to consider relocation in the next three years, with 15% considering moving within the next twelve months.
According to Invest Northern Ireland, this figure rose among companies which had moved within the past three years, with 39% stating they would consider relocating in the next three years.
Commenting on the findings, Colin Lewis, director of international sales and marketing at Invest Northern Ireland said: "You might imagine that the key drivers to relocation for finance directors would be cost savings but the finding of this survey reveal that availability and quality of the workforce is far more important."
In the survey, 45% of finance directors said availability of workforce was the most important factor behind a decision of whether to relocate.
