Lloyd's could record profits totalling £6bn for the 2002 to 2005 years of account, according to Moody's.
The ratings agency also forecast a £1bn profit for 2005 – 9% of capacity.
Moody's stated that it had lowered its expectations for the 2002 account to 11% of capacity in light of reserve deterioration, run-off costs, syndicates and adjustments for foreign exchange.
The forecast of 15% for the 2003 year of account remains unchanged.
The forecast for 2004 has been lowered to 8% of capacity in light of hurricane activity, the agency said.
