Company history:

Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society, formed in 1843, is the UK's largest Friendly Society, funds under management.

Chief officer: Malcolm Berryman

Biography: Berryman became group chief executive of Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society in 1999 having previously been appointed actuary and operations director.

As part of that role he has managed all of Liverpool Victoria's acquisitions over the period as well as the move from its London head office to Bournemouth.

He joined the society in September 1995 after being chief executive of Crown Financial Management.

Prior to that he acted as a consultant setting up Ark Life, the bancassurance operation of AIB in Ireland.

Liverpool Victoria provides personal lines motor and household insurance through affinity groups and with the general public using the Liverpool Victoria and Frizzell brands.

All general insurance business is administered on a direct basis from the head office in Bournemouth.
