History: Dial Direct Insurance Marketing was founded in 1994 as a joint venture between NIG Skandia and Michael Bennett, managing director of GF Bennett & Company, a specialist motorcycle insurance intermediary.
Based in Coventry, Dial Direct shares the same location as Bennetts, which was established in 1930 by the grandfather of Michael Bennett. Launched initially to support car insurance underwritten by NIG Skandia, Dial Direct developed to provide generic products for car, motorcycle and home, each supported by a panel of leading insurers.
Since the merger of the two businesses in 1999, Bennetts has adopted the trading style of Dial Direct Insurance Marketing. In October 2001 the Dial Direct and Bennetts business was acquired by the Budget Group .
