History: The companies were formed from the merger of Lloyds Bank Insurance Services and TSB General Insurance Company. Their principle activity is the underwriting and broking of personal lines general insurance. The major product lines include creditor, domestic property, private motor and health insurance. The products are principally distributed through the Lloyds TSB Branch network, direct and through the internet.

With the head office in Newport, South Wales, the companies also have offices in Haywards Heath and Bournemouth.

LTSB "Insuredirect" (Lloyds TSB Insuredirect is a trading name of Lloyds TSB Insurance Services), part of the general Insurance arm of the LTSB

Group, is a direct call centre offering home and motor insurance to customers who contact the company via its branches, or as a result of media activity, i.e. TV advertising, mail drops, bank statement inserts, interactive TV and the internet. The company, based in Bournemouth (current headcount approx. 300 employees) started business in 1992 and quickly grew to become part of the UK's leading provider of personal lines insurance. Investor in People accreditation was achieved in 1994 and has been maintained to the present day.

Using a panel of nine major Insurance companies, the company offers quotations via a sophisticated systems-based telephone network.

The flexibility and speed of the quotation service enables quotations and sales to be completed immediately, with confirmation documentation reaching the customer within 48 hours.
Motor insurance sales are handled via Churchill Insurance call centres in Bromley and Teeside. High net worth sales are also conducted from the call centre, offering a bespoke quotation service to customers who fall outside the standard insurance criteria.

A recent new initiative has been the introduction of a full "outbound" facility, which has enhanced the ability to offer a quality customer service response to its customers.
