Rating agency AM Best has affirmed the financial strength rating of Hiscox Insurance.

Announcing the decision, AM Best said the rating reflects Hiscox's improved capital adequacy, strong investments and liquidity.

The ratings agency added that the company was benefiting from solid operating performance.

An AM Best spoksman said: "The rating reflects the company's excellent capitalisation and prospective financial performance with its leadership in certain specialist lines and experienced management team receiving particular note."
