The number of cyber liability products continues to grow with both Countrywide and Allianz Cornhill launching covers this week.

The cyber vandalism cover from Allianz Cornhill Engineering provides covers against viruses, hacking and denial of service attacks.

The policy is intended to provide a safety net for small to medium-sized businesses, and recognises the reliance of many businesses on internet service providers.

A guaranteed minimum claims payment is available when claiming for loss of income after "cybervandalism" attacks.

Stefan Bramwell, senior underwriter at Allianz Cornhill Engineering, said: "We expect this will be a very welcome additional cover. We can't mend broken hearts, but if the love bug bites again, at least our cyber vandalism cover will be there to pick up the pieces."

Countrywide is also offering its members a cyber liability cover through SBJ Stephenson.
