The ABI has welcomed government proposals to reform its spending on flood defences.
The proposals, to be debated in the House of Commons tomorrow (Thursday), will ensure proper planning and co-ordination of the flood defence budget announced last year, said ABI.
Mary Francis, ABI director, said: "The government has now accepted the need for better co-ordination and planning of spending on flood defences.
"These proposals should help ensure that the increased spending announced last year is well directed and used where it is most needed."
