Insurer ACE has reported a loss after taking a charge to boost reserves to pay for asbestos claims.
The Bermuda-based company said its fourth-quarter loss was $168m (£102m) compared with a profit of $46m (£27m) a year earlier.
Last week, insurers Travelers, Chubb and St. Paul Cos. revealed how boosting reserves to cover asbestos-related litigation costs had eroded their profits.
