Acumen Insurance has launched a product to cover losses resulting from road rage incidents and muggings.
The policy, called Body Guard will cover loss of personal possessions or injuries, said Acumen.
According to a report, policyholders who are permanently injured can receive a one-off pay-out of up to £25,000 in return for annual premiums starting at £16.99.
The company claimed the level of cover offered was approximately ten times greater than that included under standard home and motor policies, said the report.
Acumen Insurance director Kevin Kenny said the product had been developed in response to the growing number of mugging and road rage incidents.
