Aegis Syndicate today announced it will distribute $1.5m (£0.9m) to members who contributed to the success of Aegis Energy Syndicate 1225.

Payments offsetting premiums paid to the syndicate will be paid to Aegis members who placed profitable insurance business with the syndicate in 2002 and continued to place business in 2005, the company said.

The ‘Premium Credit Programme' is based on an existing scheme operated by Aegis in the US which rewards members for continuing to place their insurance with the mutual energy specialist, the company said.

Alan J. Maguire, president and chief executive officer of Aegis in the US, said: “This is an exciting and unique proposition within the London market that will generate further loyalty between our members and our syndicate.”
