AIG Europe has appointed Strategic Insurance Services (SISL) to provide an underwriting, administration and claims handling service for its rental car insurance product.
The product covers collision damage waiver and supplemental liability insurance. AIG Europe developed the offering in partnership with SISL.
AIG Europe regional vice president and personal lines manager for UK/Ireland region Rob Ryan said: "Rental Car Insurance has become an important addition to insurance protection when travelling abroad.
"In many cases overseas car rental companies only offer the minimum legally required cover as standard which may mean that drivers find themselves underinsured if they are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident. This insurance is intended to provide them with peace of mind when driving abroad."
