Travel insurance specialist AIG Europe has announced that it is covering both business and leisure travellers for all SARS related medical claims.
The announcement follows reports that some insurance companies will not cover SARS related medical claims. Other insurers have refused to sell policies to people visiting China.
AIG Europe travel manager Richard Bodin said: "We want to put traveller's minds at rest, by reassuring our customers that they will have cover while travelling for SARS, as per their individual policy.
"We have not instigated an exclusion zone and see no reason why travellers should have to travel without adequate insurance cover, leaving them exposed to potential medical costs topping £100,000."
