AIG's board of directors has elected Nicholas Walsh as executive vice president, foreign general insurance.
In addition, Ralph Mucerino has been elected AIG vice president, global energy, and Robert Clyde, Seiki Tokuni and Andreas Vassiliou have been elected AIG vice presidents, life insurance.
Walsh will continue to serve as president and chief executive of American International Underwriters (AIU), AIG's overseas property-casualty insurance operations, a position he has held since 2002.
Clyde, who is based in Tokyo, will continue as president and chief executive of AIG companies in Japan and Korea.
Ralph Mucerino will continue as president of the AIG companies global energy division, a position he has held since 2002.
Seiki Tokuni, who is based in Tokyo, continues in his current positions as chairman of AIG Star Life Insurance and chairman and chief executive of AIG Edison Life Insurance.
Andreas Vassiliou, based in Athens, Greece, will continue as regional chief executive of AIG's life insurance operations in Central and Eastern Europe, a position he has held since 1996, and as chairman of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia Regions for ALICO, a post he has held since 2001 when he was also named an ALICO senior vice president.
