Alliance Insurance Management chief executive highlights opportunities afforded by Towergate takeover...

Alliance Insurance Management chief executive has this morning commented on the company's acquisition by Towergate.

As originally reported by Insurance Times on 15 February Alliance will continue to be led by CEO John McLaren-Stewarth.

With some 30 staff in its offices in Bury and London and currently controls premiums of £10m, Alliance has a number of specialist corporate niches which include crisis management and asbestos surveying – all included in the acquisition.

McLaren-Stewart said the deal meant there was now a huge opportunity to grow those specialist areas. “We are very familiar with Towergate's track record and the opportunities for our team to fulfill their full potential.,” he said. “Our combined levels of expertise and client services will be very tough to beat.

“We have worked hard to grow Alliance as a business which identifies with its clients to provide the best in corporate risk management and we will continue to do that with our current clients and with future ones. The service we offer will not change.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
