State reinsurer has only faced competition since 2007
The Brazilian National Private Insurance Board has authorised Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty arm to operate in Brazil's reinsurance market, Dow Jones reports.
Allianz already operates in Brazil's corporate insurance market. Private reinsurers only started operating in Brazil in 2007.
