Lloyd's managing agency Amlin has unveiled a web-based service for marine brokers.

Marinsure, developed by the Amlin marine syndicate KJ Coles, is an interactive database which will allow brokers to transact business via the internet.

Brokers can extract the relevant information on fleets from the database and send it to underwriters for a quote, branded with their own logo.

The Marinsure system, which contains details of 70,000 vessels worldwide, will allow brokers to submit presentations on a risk to any underwriter.

KJ Coles underwriter, Simon Beale, said: “Web technology can dispense with much of the work and paper used in presenting a risk to an underwriter, thus improving the efficiency of the risk placement process.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
