Amlin said today that underwriting activity in its syndicate is developing in line with expectations.

Lloyd's Syndicate 2001 premium income to the end of April 2005 was reported as £415m, compared with £459m a year earlier. Amlin said the reduction was in line with the 15% reduction in capacity for the syndicate.

The figure represented 52% of the syndicate's planned income for the year, it said.

For the 2003 year of account, of which Amlin owns 86.2%, current forecasts are between 17% and 22%.

In the 2004 year of account, which it wholly owns, current forecasts are between 7% and 12%.
