Aon has named Andrew M. Appel as chief executive officer of Aon Consulting Worldwide.
Appel succeeds Donald C. Ingram who Aon said "has had longstanding plans to retire as Aon Consulting's chief executive officer." Ingram will remain chairman of Aon Consulting.
Appel was previously a senior partner in the financial services and technology practices of consultant McKinsey & Co.
Aon CEO Gregory C. Case also joined the brokerage from McKinsey.
