Fiona Gilvey stopped work last month

Aon Global UK executive director Fiona Gilvey has gone on leave, Insurance Times understands.

She stopped work last month but no decision has been made on her future.

An Aon spokesman said the company would not comment on individual matters.

Aon Global has undergone considerable management changes since the new year. Karl Hennessy became managing director, replacing Ken MacDonald, who now works in Aon’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division.

As part of a wider restructuring, the company has not replaced four client relationship managers who worked on large company accounts.

Aon bought Benfield for £844m last November. A combination of takeover costs, restructuring and discontinued operations hit net income, which fell 95% to $10m (£7.1m) in the fourth quarter.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
