Aon Global Marine has joined the International Maritime Industries Forum (IMIF) to improve maritime safety and promote the image of maritime industries worldwide.

The company, which is a subsidiary of Aon, said its membership reflects the need for the insurance market to continually be aware of the issues facing the shipping industry.

Steve Allum, chairman of Aon's marine global practice group, said: “By joining the IMIF and understanding the issues facing its members, we can work more effectively to promote cooperation between the insurance and shipping industries. We want to further embed risk management into shipping and in turn work with marine underwriters to issue appropriate rates for quality operators.”

Jim Davis, long standing Chairman of the IMIF, added: “We have always acknowledged that insurance is an integral constituent of the maritime scene and I am delighted to welcome Aon.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
