Aon said its Aon Broking Connections would revolutionise business in London by helping them to rise to the challenges set out by FSA chief executive John Tiner.

The package, which has been launched today, is already being used by Aon Broking divisions to enable faster processing of policies and risks.

The launch come as Tiner called on the London market to sort out its policy wordings process.

Aon chairman Dennis Mahoney welcomed Tiner's speech and said the new system would tackle the issues Tiner raised head on.

He said: “The inefficient processes that have characterised the London market have long been responsible for unacceptable time delays in the collection of premiums, the issuing of policies and the payment of claims.

“Technology has an absolutely fundamental role to play in cutting out inefficiencies while bringing a high degree of transparency and contract certainty to the insurance process. Ultimately it is about how we deliver the best insurance product to our clients in the most efficient way.”
