Aon's personal lines operation is to outsource its policy administration function to a new company formed from the management buyout (MBO) of part of HSBC Select broking.

Under the deal Aon will continue handle front-end operations, including marketing.

The deal follows the announcement from Aon chairman and chief executive Patrick Ryan that the company is looking at selling parts of its UK business.

Aon Personal managing director Tony Martin said: "The business we are looking at is the high volume affinity business which we have via our panel arrangements. We were looking at ways we could handle it and put the contract out to tender."
