Aon has agreed to be the official insurance broker to Scottish rugby in a three-year, six-figure sponsorship deal with the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU).

The deal includes an agreement to support the SRU and will give players, fans and members of the SRU access to Aon's products.

SRU sponsorship manager David James said: "We are introducing an insurance broker who we believe will be able to provide best value to our clubs, players and supporters."

"Together, we hope to offer significant benefits to all those who play or follow rugby in this country, as well as having the opportunity to re-invest the sponsorship revenues directly back into the game."

James added: "Aon has proved itself to be hugely enthusiastic in support of this project and I believe the benefits to all will be wide-ranging."

Mike Still, Managing Director for Aon Corporate in Scotland, said: "Aon's experience in the sports, leisure and entertainment industries is unrivalled. We are confident that our breadth and depth of resource will benefit players and supporters of the game in Scotland at all levels."
